Hey! Ok, so post number one... here we go... First off, I should just say that I am awful at blogging! I have had like three other blogs and I always end up forgetting to actually write anything. This time, though, I am actually going to be consistent with this! (Well I'll try really hard, anyways...!)
I was inspired to do a food blog after watching the movie "Julie and Julia." (Which is a great movie by the way, and I'd totally recommend it!) Obviously, though, I can't cook my way through a Julia Child cookbook... that's already been done. I absolutely love traveling, which is why I decided to combine my passion for different cultures (and their foods!) with my passion for cooking. (In fact, I was living in Zambia, Africa when I decided that I wanted to do my food challenge!)
The way that this is going to work is that I am going to make 6 things a week for the next 14 weeks. (I'll be able to take a couple off days, and one day a week will be a make-up day in case I miss a day.) I can double up on meals one day, if I want/need. I am going to be making mostly dinners, but also some breakfasts and desserts. I am going to be making 13-14 dishes from every continent. (Minus Antarctica.) So that means that I'll be doing one dish from every continent every week. NO COUNTRY WILL BE DONE TWICE! I am going to be posting photos of the dishes that I make, as well as recipes. Partially for my own benefit, I am also going to try to include some information on the countries that I am cooking from.
Anyhow, I think that's about it for my first blog post! Oh, yeah, and my starting date is February 1st! :)
